As the Masters edges closer, we can't wait to see if Adam Scott can hang on to his Green Jacket. Scott is an interesting case. His swing has always looked majestic; yet five years ago, he'd dropped out of the world's top 50 and his career was stalling. It prompted Scott to switch long-term coach, Butch Harmon, for unknown Aussie Brad Malone. Malone quickly spotted a postural kink that caused Scott to separate his arms from his body, costing his action connection and coordination. A simple set-up change turned Scott's career around.
The episode shows two things: first, that a successful action is built on solid basics, whether it's yours or mine or Adam Scott's; and second, that a fresh pair of eyes can make a real difference to a player's form.
